Legal Aid

Have you been injured at work, sacked unlawfully ? Have you lost disability or PIP payments ? Have you been wrongfully sanctioned by the DWP ? Are you a bereaved family seeking justice or an inquest into a loved one's death ? have you had your human rights breached but can't afford to pursue a case ? Tough luck, because the changes to legal aid brought in by the Tory government in 2012 to save money along with changes to the way in which solicitors are paid for legal aid work in 2006 means that justice is now harder to get and is truly only for those with money.

The Legal Aid Agency’s exceptional case funding scheme was originally expected to help 7,000 people a year following the 2012 reforms. Instead it supports only a few hundred. Cuts to legal aid have made the enforcement of human rights “simply unaffordable” for many people in the UK, a cross-party group of MPs and peers has warned. The Joint Committee on Human Rights warned that large parts of the country have become “legal aid deserts”, as practitioners withdraw from providing legal aid services because they can no longer afford to do this work.

But we in the government don't really give a crap because we can all afford legal fees, we spent £1.2 million of your taxes in legal fees fighting a challenge to Brexit. We spent £370,000 losing air pollution legal battles. We also through the MOD spent £750,000 on legal fees denying responsibility for soldier deaths. We spent a staggering £200 million trying to stop the disabled getting help they're entitled to. We also gave Virgin Care £2 million of your taxes after they successfully sued us.

She may be asset stripping the country with her kleptocratic arrogance, she and her party may have doubled national debt by adding £900 billion in just 8 years, shortened your lifespan via cuts to the NHS to enforce stealth privatisation. Endangered your life via cuts to Police and Emergency services, cut 21,500 police and 20,000 armed forces personnel, closed down 52 ambulance stations and 35 fire stations and reduced emergency wards by 17%. She may have breached the human rights of the disabled and spent £100 million in fees defending those breaches. Cost the excess deaths of 120,000 via austerity, lost that dossier, been found in contempt of parliament...but, erm forgot where I was going with this...

Sending your child to state schools. Having free access to the legal system. Using the NHS paid for by your Taxes and N.I. contributions. Public Transport, Public Libraries, Public Parks, The Welfare State. These are all examples of Social Democracy at work, as are things like National Parks / National Trust. Socialism is not a dirty word and Social Democracy while not directly socialism is about providing a society to benefit us all.

Labour policy is similar to Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland and other scandinavian models of mainstream Social Democracy style governments. It is financially sound, morally responsible and has worked exceptionally well, while also providing a high standard of living.

Tory investor

I'm an investor in Philip May's Capita group and I've made bags of cash in the last 8 years. Mainly because the Tories allow me to use tax loopholes and creative accounting. I have also been betting against Carillion on hedge funds for 3 years while the government were handing them contracts, even though they had 3 profit warnings. I will now take all my ill gotten gains out of our economy using tax havens thanks to Tory duplicity. The country may be suffering austerity but investors like me have never had it so good.

Labour plan to cap PFIs and theirs were all low cost short term. The Tories have no cap and have extended the terms way into the future until 2035, they have also added far more in terms of debt than Labour ever did. So now I'm making bags of cash because I invest in Kaiser Permanente and they will be getting the lion share of contracts in the NHS. Along with lots of other US health providers and let me tell you, they are mercenary, I'm going to be topping up my offshore account so much I'll be able to retire to my own private Island within 2 years.

Legalize it ? Cannabis.

The research that says cannabis kills brain cells is based on force feeding rhesus monkeys smoke inhalation until their brains are starved of oxygen. Guess what happens when the brain is starved of oxygen ? The studies on psychosis have also been debunked. How can you isolate cannabis as the main factor and not the alcohol, pharma chems, environmental influences and natural progression of an existing problem, not to mention the paranoia created by it's illegality ?

Cannabis does however act as a neuroprotectant and can stimulate neurogenesis meaning it protects and grows brain cells. It can detox our bodies and kill cancer cells in-vitro and can be used for a wide variety of medical conditions including oxidation associated diseases, such as ischemic, age-related, inflammatory and autoimmune diseases, limiting neurological damage following ischemic shunts, such as stroke and trauma, or in the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease and HIV dementia.
